"There is no Socratic virtue as long as there are slaves". Erotic reason, republicanism and socialist democracy in Antoni Domènech's De la ética a la política.
Abstract
This paper reconstructs the early years of Antoni Domèmech's work up to the fist formulation of two key ideas in his mature work: plebeian republicanism and fraternity. This will be done on three levels. The first level looks at the positions taken in the transition to the defeat in the NATO referendum. The second level analyses the thical solution proposed by Domènech to the problem of needs and environmentalism. The third level, based on the previous evidence, presents the first formulation of his republican reconstruction of Marxism and fraternity.
