Intersectionality and New Readings of Marx, A Possible Meeting?
Abstract
The ways of thinking about social domination in political theory have changed drastically during the last decades, leaving behind dyadic schemes with well-defined centers of power. This article compares autors of the New Reading of Marx, Value criticism and Intersectionality, which have contributed to redefining social domination during the last decades, nuancing and developing the analytical frameworks that preceded them, namely traditional Marxism and Black Feminism. By taking into account Intersectionality’s critics of tradicional Marxism, this article explores the concept of social domination of these new readings of Marx. Secondly, it investigates the possibilities for dialogue between these approaches while acknowledging their undeniable tensions.
