Abstract

This paper presents the critique to colonialism in Enrique Dussel’s philosophy focusing on three relevant points that will help to lay the presented explanation and argumentation in this paper. First, the ego conquiro, colonial subject prior to the Cartesian ego cogito. Second, the proposal of the transmodern pluriversality proposed by Enrique Dussel as a project to overcome the unilateralism of the colonial world. Third, the idea of the Second Emancipation of Latin-America that reminds us that it still has an outstanding debt to undermine the neocolonial relations. Furthermore, this path is preceded by an introduction in which a necessary emphasis is placed on the importance of Enrique Dussel’s own experience in Europe and the Middle East during the sixties of the last Century in which the reception of Leopoldo Zea’s work plays an important role. Finally, the paper ends with a couple of reflections that derive from the elaborated argumentation.
