Politicity of Philosophy in Ignacio Ellacuría’s Thought: some Keys to Rethinking Politics
Abstract
This paper aims to analyze the political character that Ignacio Ellacuría’s metaphysics, as a proposal to the crisis that represent political regimes such as fascism, totalitarianism and military dictatorships throughout the twentieth century. We will begin with the discusion of his idea of philosophy, its object and dimensions, and the situational nature of philosophical reflection, as well as its material and ideological conditionings. After that, we will present the idea of politics and politicity of our author, and how metaphysics is political as well, since it is rooted in history. This will lead us to the idea of civilization of poverty as a path for reorientation of today’s political reflection.
