From the Crisis of Liberalism to its Restoration: An Analysis of the First Ten Years of the Revista de Estudios Políticos (1941-1950
Abstract
The article deals with the process followed by the Revista de Estudios Políticos (1941), created as an organ of dissemination of the Institute of the same name, founded two years earlier, at the end of the civil war. In it, intellectuals from the Ortega orbit wrote who made a journey through these first ten years from the bankruptcy of political liberalism to the laying of the first bases for its reconstruction. In the background, the novelist Benito Pérez Galdós is alluded to at the end of the year of his centenary, author of the emblematic work Electra in whose premiere and reruns has been considered a symbol of the struggle for freedom of conscience.
