Intricate Readings: Machiavelli, Aristotle, Thomas Aquinas
Abstract
The rehabilitation of the Machiavelli thought that Kaspar Schopper tried in his Paideia policies where he affirmed that Machiavelli was just repeating arguments that Aristotle and Thomas Aquinas had already stated before, allows us to recognize the intricate relationship among the different readings that give rise to the composition of this defense. An appropriate contextualization of such different readings that pointed the right distance between etic and emic approaches, perhaps could allow us to know better the real meaning of Machiavellian thought.Downloads
