Identitary representations and equality: the political potential of the hybridization
Abstract
Our paper intends to reveal the analytical potential that Rancière’s notion of equality involves for the critical studies of contemporary law and political process. Our contribution comes from Political Philosophy and Philosophy of Law in order to turn observable some paradoxes that permeate the identitary political movements. Through considering Bhabha’s notion of hybridization as a bridge that is able to articulate the relationship between legal equality and legal difference, we think that it is possible to emphasize the importance of Rancière’s notion of equality, beyond difference claims.Downloads
