Abstract

This article enquires about the procedures used in order to build political spheres in the Spanish-American monarchy, being that they were two thousand leagues away from the Spanish monarch. The author establishes a connection between the regular-secular clergy confrontation in New Spain and some resorts of power within the Consejo de Indias [Council of the Indies].
