BETWEEN THEORY AND PRACTICE OF THE CATHOLIC REASON OF STATE, FELIPE II'S LAST COURTS
Abstract
One of Saavedra Fajardo’s biggest worries was the impoverishment of Castile due to extremes, to sustaining far-away provinces such as Flanders. In this article, the author demonstrates that the questioning of Spain’s foreign policy was already existent in the last courts of Castile, where mostly the group of city solicitors «that were unwell» supported a policy that would abandon or cancel war.Downloads
