Abstract

The author analyses the political rationality that appears in Hobbes’ Leviathan. For that purpose, she first studies the psychological elements, the passions and reason in a natural state. She then approaches the role that these elements play when time comes to build the artifice that the state is. Finally, she analyses the notion of political rationality that emerged with the state and its relationship with natural passions and reason.
