To be a Woman and not die in the Attempt. Female Characters in Ingrid Noll’s Work
Abstract
In the crime novels by German author Ingrid Noll, the female characters play a central role, as murderers, accomplices or amateur detectives. Her women always get what they want while enjoying an amazing impunity that allows them to avoid justice. Murder, lies and moral corruption all accompany these characters’ actions and decisions. This article aims to analyse the female characters, looking at their main features and moral values in relation to crime and society. Male characters and their dependence on female characters are also studied.
