Comparative analysis of the social entrepreneurial profile of leaders and young university students: case Cuenca University, Ecuador
Abstract
The objective of this article is to carry out a comparative analysis of the social entrepreneur profile between participants in the Transformational Leadership program and students in the fifth cycles and above at the University of Cuenca, during the period September 2018 - August 2019. The research methodology is quantitative, descriptive, comparative and correlational, cross-sectional, with a sample of 575 people. Statistical inference techniques such as student t tests of independent samples, robust tests for heterogeneous populations and factorial ANOVA were applied, with a Boostrap of 10,000 repetitions to estimate the statistics. The results showed that the social entrepreneur profile of the people who took the Transformational Leadership program is significantly higher than that presented by young university students in the last cycles. The gender analysis shows that the social entrepreneur profile is similar between men and women who are transformative leaders, and it is also very similar between male and female university students, with the exception of the dimensions of social vision, sustainability and social approval, where women stand out significantly. The fundamental conclusion is that training in collective education, with a socially and environmentally responsible vision, in addition to training in specific career skills, improves the social entrepreneur profile of people, contributing to forging professionals and humans with more balanced social entrepreneur profiles between men and women, who together and cooperatively contribute to the economic development of countries.
