The conceptualization of sustainable development in the framework of the 2030 Agenda
Abstract
Although the sustainable development proposal arose in the field of the environment, as a result of its popularization and its incorporation into political agendas, it has been subject to different interpretations. The current challenge is to find a way to materialize this sustainable development. The 2030 Agenda does not detail how to achieve this, perhaps because “each country has different approaches, visions for the future, models and instruments to achieve sustainable development, depending on their national circumstances and priorities”. This article investigates the conceptualization that is implicit throughout the resolution “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development”.
