Abstract

In this article we will present some examples of counterpower institutions between so-called indigenous groups in Northwestern Mexico. We return to the term “counterpower” from the work of anthropologist David Graeber, Fragments of an Anarchist Anthropology (2011 [2004]), which refers not only to institutions opposed to the State and capital, but also to those institutions that seek to guarantee that there are no conditions for the production of centralized power and the accumulation of capital. It is on the latter that we will focus in this paper.
