The translation of the eucharistic species into Nahuatl: an episode from the history of translation in New Spain
Abstract
This case study on the development of transcultural translation in evangelization shows strategies and criteria used by Catholic religious to translate the Eucharistic bread and wine to the Nahuatl speaker people between the 16th and 19th centuries.
