Is the emotional intelligence an advantage for language comprehension
Abstract
In spoken language, emotional prosody reveals much of the important information of the speech; therefore it is expected that emotional intelligence plays a key role when comprising it. As emotional intelligence components can be learned, it is fundamental to understand its mechanisms. Added, EP is involved in syntactic and semantic processing, and textual comprehension. Nevertheless, few studies have contrasted the role of EP in language processing between people with diverse emotional intelligence. The aim of this pilot study is to come up with how IE it is an advantage when solving linguistic conflicts. We expect that subjects with higher IE should be more efficient solving prosodic-semantic inconsistencies, optimizing their performance.Downloads
