Anthropological and Ethnographical Perspectives on Public Policies
Abstract
In this introduction to the monographic issue some of the anthropological and ethnographic contributions to the study of public policies are reviewed. These topics are related to the problem that the state-centric and beaurocratic-normative policies pose to the knowledge, which usually restricts and orients the analysis towards “oficial”, formal or centered-in-thegovernance statements. The monographic issue aims to contribute to dismantle the common stereotypes, prejudices and simplifications which usually govern both administrative interventions and policies as well as the position taking by social agents with respect to them.
