El habitus de la discapacidad: la experiencia corporal de la dominación en un contexto económico periférico
Abstract
Sociológical understanding of disability, mainly from the Social Model, has applied schemes and categories produced from and for the First Worid which perhaps are not adequate to analyse disability in other national contexts. The text proposes that Pierre Bourdieu theory is useful to understand disabled people experience in an economic peripherical society as Argentina is. The notions of habitus, social trajectories and symbolic violence provide sense to these people voices. Through the empirical material used we realise as, in fact, that domination suffered by these people falls within an institutional structure that reproduces its maintenance conditions instilling an specific habitus, which constitutes the body as its main clamping device.Downloads
