«Vacaslocas» y comunicación del riesgo: un análisis de la prensa española
Abstract
In Ulrick Beck’s theory of risk society, the mass media playa decisive role in risk-definition. In doinq so, Beck suggests, they promote a reflexive societal self-critique. The food scare created in Spain by the mad cow disease provides an special opportunity for putting his theorical frame to the test. En this paper analyse the Spanish press discourse on the crisis in order to assess what Beck’s approach can teach us about risk communication in Spain.Downloads
