La economía moral de la globalización. Legitimación del Estado de Bienestar, cultura capitalismo global
Abstract
The paper tackles the cultural dimension of the relationship between the welfare state and globalization. Two aspects are considered: firstly, the legitimation problems of Welfare State in the global economy, and secondly, the effects of the welfare state upon the globalization culture. After the discussion of theorical arguments in both dimensions, an empirical test is practiced which gives two results. Concerning the first aspect, there are no legitimation problems of the welfare State. Secondly, the welfare State is not necessarily destructive of the moral economy of globalization. Empirical analysis is based on the 1985 and 1996 ISSP-Role of Government surveys.Downloads
