Abstract

In recent years, Argentina has registered a substantial growth in experiences associated with the “popular economy” in both urban and rural areas. These processes express deep transformations in the appropriation of the territory and the material and symbolic reproduction of life by popular and subaltern sectors. The objective of this work is to develop a reflection on the basic constructions that have cemented different socio-territorial organizations, proposing an analysis of different dimensions that make up the dispute for the "common": organizational forms and trajectories, self-government practices, representations of the territory and modalities of reorganization of the economy. It is in this framework that we recover two experiences of community democracy, linked to workers of the popular economy of the province of Córdoba, Argentina: the recuperation of the exGrupo de Artillería 141 and the construction of the community and agro-productive project "Refugio Libertad" on said property and; on the other hand, the organizational, textile production and struggle process of the "Dignified Education Campaign" We seek from this diversity, and from their stories, public documents and field observations, to account for the stated objectives.
