Abstract

The political mediation, as mediation in general, is making its way as an effective practice for the improvement and resolution of complex conflicts. The progress in its development and its positive estimation by the society, are gradually recognized, but as a way to do rather than an object of scientific reflection; but this perspective is particularly needed to know more and better, both from the perspective of basic and applied research. To achieve this it’s necessary to present an up to date situation of the issue to, at least, determine its boundaries: Concepts, processes, problems, difficulties, its negotiating base and also its undeniable relationship with politics and political science.

Doctora en Ciencias Políticas, Profesora Titular y Directora del Departamento de Ciencia Política y de la Administración II, de la Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Sociología, en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Docente e investigadora principalmente en el campo de la Política Comparada y los sistemas políticos. Profesora Visitante de distintas universidades españolas y extranjeras. Autora y coordinadora de distintos libros, artículos en revistas especializadas, artículos divulgativos y artículos de prensa, publicados tanto en España como en extranjero, entre los que se cuentan: Sistema Político Español, Política Comparada (junto a C. Laiz), Sistemas políticos de la Unión Europea (junto a R. Cotarelo y J. Maldonado), Los movimientos sociales. Utopía y realidad, (junto a J. Ferri) ,Pobreza, Mujeres y Medio Ambiente y Señoras y Señores diputados/ ‘Onorevolideputati’. (junto a A. Francesconi y Jaime Ferri).
