Mobility, acceleration and banality of evil

Abstract

This paper pretends explain new expresión of evil in the context of social acceleration. The most importantaspect would be the relation between the high speed of our actions and decisions and the paralysis ofindividual judgment. The theoretical reference of the banality of evil of Hannah Arendt introduces theanalysis and constitutes the core of reflection.

Celso Sánchez Capdequí, Universidad Pública de Navarra
Celso Sánchez Capdequí es profesor del dpto.Sociología de la Universidad Pública de Navarra. Enseña asignaturas como “Teoría sociológica”, “Metodología de las ciencias sociales”, “Sociología del hecho religioso”, entre otras. Es autor de libros como Imaginación y sociedad (Tecnos, Madrid, 1999), Las máscaras del dinero (Anthropos, Barcelona, 2004) y En los limites de la con-fusión (La Catarata, Madrid, 2010). En la actualidad prepara la edición de un volumen colectivo acerca del conflicto de valores y el perfil postsecular de los actuales modelos de convivencia.
