Abstract
O culto do chá, a work written by Wenceslau de Moraes and published in 1905, introduces us to the rituals related to the cultivation and preparation of tea in Japan; during the narration, with a deep lyrical feeling, the author «paints» bucolic pictures of landscapes and rooms and also offers us a psychological portrait of the characters that populate his stories and of Japanese society in general.
