The report Future of Work 2035: For Everyone to Shine. Legal analysis of the Japanese proposals on the implementation of robots and AI in the labour world and their possible adaptation to the European environment
Abstract
In the context of the centenary of the creation of the ILO, Japan held a national dialogue focused on the future of work that resulted in the publication of the report Future of Work 2035: For Everyone to Shine. In this report the situation of the labour world in Japan in the last 20 years is exposed and forecasts are made about what will happen in the next 20 years. With this, we obtain an overview of Japanese society in which the implementation of robots and AI in the work environment has a very important role. This paper analyzes these forecasts placing them in the context of the Society 5.0 initiative of the Government of Shinzo Abe to compare them later with the situation in Europe. Starting from the basis that Japanese society is a robotic society before and to a greater extent than European ones, the objective of this work is to answer the question of whether the Japanese proposals differ from the European ones and whether they can be useful and applicable to the European environment.
