Edited by Claudia Lira Latuz and Pablo Iacobelli Delpiano, Memoria y paisaje en el cine japonés de posguerra, joins an already growing corpus of books dedicated to the Asia Pacific region in Spanish Academia. This collaborative book, written by different researchers of Japanese cinema and culture, proposes a journey through one of the most prolific periods of Japanese cinema, but at the same time critical on a social level. Japan has just emerged from World War II as a defeated country and needs to overcome the traumas inherited from a tragic time. On this path of healing, memory and its relationship with landscape, broadly understood, will play a fundamental role in the recovery of a society that must reinvent itself.
