The purpose of this chapter is to contextualize the arrival of Marcelo de Ribadeneira in Japan and to analyse the image he offers of this country in his voluminous work Historia de las Islas del archipiélago Filipino y reinos de la gran China, Tartaria, Cochinchina, Malaca, Siam, Camnvlmlogmbodge y Japón, which was published in Barcelona in 1601.Downloads
