I startup, You startup, We startup: the “entrepreneurship” category in Mauricio Macri’s speech.
Abstract
The aim of this article is to demonstrate the importance of the word “entrepreneurship” in the political speech of Argentina’s ex-president Mauricio Macri (2015-2019). For that, his participation in the act which took place after the enactment of the Entrepreneurs law (2017) will be analyzed. The analysis consists in combining traditions of political speech analysis, political communication and elements of Weber’s and Bourdieu’s sociology related to the category “ethos”. The focus will be set on the way it was used to formulate definitions about his political economical-political project, about other actor of the political scene and his own image. In that way, it is pretend to contribute to the study of entrepreneurship phenomenon in contemporary Argentina.
