Inmigración e imágenes mediáticas: análisis cualitativo de la autopercepción de los inmigrantes
Abstract
This qualitative research focuses on analyzing the media impact on immigrants, the degree of media credibility and their own self-perception in the media. That is, we study the way they perceive the media and how they perceive themselves in the media mirror. To this aim, we analyze some textual materials from 38 qualitative interviews based on a biographical-narrative model and conducted under the project MEXEES (The measurement of xenophobia in Spain at the beginning of Twenty-first Century). The results of the study con-firm the power of the media regarding the construction of discourses on immigration, even within the immigrant community.Downloads
