Hate speech: an epidemic spreading in the network. State of the art on racism and xenophobia on social media
Abstract
This article acts as a compendium of major researches that address the issue of racist and xenophobic comments disseminated through the Internet and social networks. It aims to make an approach to the hate speech concept and identify the main lines of study used in this sense, both in the academic and in the socio-political field, delving into the characteristics that make virtual platforms a field for dissemination of racist and xenophobic messages.
