Instrumental mediations between different music learning cultures
Abstract
The article reviews the cultures of musical learning from a psychological and social perspective in different contexts of both oral and written tradition. The construction of knowledge and the use of different psychological tools of learning according to different objectives they serve are analyzed from the socio‐historical model. We establish the notion of continuum between formal and informal poles of learning. In addition, we reflect on what it means understanding and expanding mediation tools of informal musical learning in cognition. Finally, we also intend to facilitate the understanding of the informal musical learning and its inclusion to educational institutions.Downloads
