The City and Its Limits. The Demarcation of the Political in Cornelius Castoriadis
Abstract
Among the many virtues that can be recognized in the thought of Cornelius Castoriadis, it might be stood out the value of his original way of approaching to “the Greek experience.” This paper will try to line his original reading of Ancient Greece, returning to the relevance and accuracy with which Castoriadis used the pólis in order to justify some veiled nuances of our political intuitions. In our exposition, we may try to approach his original perspective accompanied by some old partners as Anaximander and Aristotle. The conclusion of our proposal ―and this gesture should be read as a tribute― will be somehow critical but not ceasing to recognize the originality, courage and vigilance of his contribution as a reader of the Greek experience.Downloads
