Intransigent language for times of banality: the legacy of Adorno and Pasolini
Abstract
This article collects the criticism of Adorno and Pasolini to the era opened by May 68 and tries to transfer it to our days. The objective is to draw lines of continuity between what the two authors glimpsed in that movement and today. Based on this, it will start from the denunciation of the “intolerance” and “dogmatism” that both Adorno and Pasolini blamed on the movement; next, it will present the description of the two authors of the era of banality that, in their opinion, opened with the contempt of reflective thought, theory and culture. We will present the “fight from theory” of both authors and their position as inorganic philosophers in an age of thoughtless activism. Finally, we will outline the current state of the matter in the Conclusions section
