Identidad religiosa y existencia. Libro de las memorias de las cosas, de Jesús Fernández Santos
Abstract
Jesús Fernández Santos (1926-1988) is a writer for whom religion is a determining factor in the life of both individuals and societies, a characteristic which is unusual among authors of the period in which he writes. This study analyzes one of his most important novels, which tells the story, over a period of about a century, of an Evangelical community in Spain, the difficulties which it encounters, and the development of some of its leading figures. The author introduces into this novel some aspects of his personal experience, as well as a problematical perspective deriving from his own way of looking at the reality of Spain in particular, and human existence in general. It is, as a result, a work which is representative, original and complex.Downloads
