Environmental thought derived from the principal patristic usages of His Holiness Bartholomew, Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople
Abstract
The work identifies the patristic theological sources of the environmental cosmology in orthodox Christianity held in the thought of Bartholomew, Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople. The research approach is framed in a process of discursive analysis of hermeneutic-interpretative nature. It is observed that the deployment of patristic sources used by the patriarch allows him to build deep environmental meanings anchored in a Christian vision that presents channels of expression from a symbolic narrative of a religious nature, aimed at providing solutions to the planetary crisis that contemporary humanity is experiencing.
