The problem of new testimony in Chile. Stories of victims of torture and sexual abuse

Keywords: text, testimony, victims, silence, voice, epistemic relevance, rupture

Abstract

The article studies the emergency texts of testimonies of tortured during the military dictatorship and later of testimonies of victims of sexual and conscience abuses by Chilean priests, postulating that we are facing a new type of testimony that emerges from situations of violence. The research carries out a semiotic analysis of these stories studying axioms that characterize this type of texts. We highlight that these testimonies have a theological and epistemic relevance, which is essential for overcoming the ecclesial crisis.
