The Hiyab
Abstract
The controversy about the hiyab as an identity symbol of the Muslim women has burst into our occidental society. It can be seen like a clothe, but it is when it hides the body parts like hair, neck and sometimes the face, when it produces discomfort· because its use goes further than its strictly religious meaning. This work has two parts: the first one will try to understand this clothe nature, studying its precedence, types, and the meaning that it use has for Muslim women. The second one will focus in the politic and public debate that its use limitations has created in some European countries, where Spain is included.Downloads
