A proposito delle tradizioni sui Tarquinî
Abstract
The article proposes a new hypothesis on the relation between the last kings of Rome. The different tradition on the relationship between Lucius Tarquinius Priscus and Lucius Tarquinius Superbus conditions the length of Servius Tullius’ kingdom. The tradition that thinks Superbus son of Priscus is of Tyrrhenian extraction, the tradition that thinks Superbus nephew of Priscus is of Latin extraction. The one devalues Servius Tullius’ kingdom, the other makes the best of it. The one emphasizes the conflict between Servius and the Tarquinî’s dinasty, the other emphasizes the good relation between the one and the other.Downloads
