Singe comique? Remarques sur une figurine en terre cuite de Thèbes (Béotie)
Abstract
An unpublished figurine of the Ashmolean Museum of Oxford raises the problem of his identity (monkey or mixed creature?) and of his use in the ancient Boeotia. The similarity of the object with others of the classic age confirms his enterteining dimension but simultaneously very ambiguous because the figure might have an offering in his hands. There realizes the image of a function of the monkey in the religious universe?Downloads
