Abstract

The inscriptions found in tofet allow us to advance in the knowledge of the society, not only of the city of Carthage, but of the diverse Phoenician cities of the Mediterranean. The execution of the ritual molk, celebrated in these sanctuaries, seems to undergo a socialization from the century V, finding from high positions: sufetes and rabs, until population of dependent type.
