«My mute teachers». Epigraphic Notes by Bernardo de Cabrera in His Letters to Lorenzo Ramírez de Prado (1645-1657)
Abstract
In the correspondence of Lorenzo Ramírez de Prado, preserved in the Biblioteca General Histórica of the University of Salamanca, there is an extensive collection of letters that Bernardo de Cabrera de Page y Gámez sent to him from Córdoba. While these letters primarily deal with bibliographic and numismatic issues, they also contain information related to Roman inscriptions in Córdoba. These inscriptions are well known, but the information provided by Bernardo de Cabrera, the earliest reference to them, allows us to contextualize their discovery.
