Ethnicity and identity in Iberia / Hispania: a historiographical overview

Keywords: Spanish historiography, 20th and 21st centuries, identity, pre-Roman peoples of the Iberian Peninsula, Romanisation

Abstract

An exhaustive survey of the historiographical production on ancient Hispanic ethnography is impossible given the limits of these pages. Our intention, ultimately, is to explain in historiographical terms what we consider to be the major paradigm shifts up to the present day, with the emergence of identities as a central theme.
