Women’s Agency and Own Capital Resources in Civic Architecture. Its Epigraphical Expression in "Hispania" and Roman Africa
Abstract
This researching work studies the epigraphic mention of the use of own capital sources in the inscriptions of the women who promote civic architecture in Hispania and in the roman provinces of the north of Africa. It evaluates the capacity of independent agency of these women and also it analyzes their heterogeneous legal, economic and social features with the aim of contributing to a better definition of the municipal élite in these roman provinces.
