Abstract

The Leges Corneliae Pompeiae (88 BC) are the result of unprecedented transgression, following the surprising Sulla’s march on Rome. This article seeks to reflect on the dynamics of this historical moment, as well as to observe our literary sources’ interpretation, especially from the legislation of a new statu quo, of which we barely know details, including the repeal of the Sulpicius’ laws and the repressive practice.
