The “Silence” of Hidacio of Chaves. The religious changes in Hispania during the Vth Century
Abstract
The following essay proves that the “Chronic” by Hidacio, which is the main source for the study of the “Hispanic” in the Vth century, is insufficient for documenting the religious changes that took place in that era. Specially for the disappearance of the pagan cults and expansion of Christianity in the north of the peninsula, because of his clear interest in erasing the paganism out of his work, particularly the “dominance of the gods” through informative silence.Downloads
