The Hellenization of the "Oretani" during the second half of Vth century BC: The "Heroa" of "Obulco" (Porcuna, Jaén)
Abstract
Two funerary monuments dating to the second half of the fifth century BC have been found in Obulco (Porcuna, Jaén). They are decorated with an interesting and comprehensive sculptural program. This paper examines the different aspects related to the burials such as the status of the deceased and the funerary rites and argues that the monuments are the work of Ionian craftsmen.Downloads
