Abstract

1984 and Brave New World, are two literary works that far from being confined to the old liberalism Apologies in crisis at the beginning of the twentieth century, form a kind of “social warning” directed to point out the danger facing the western society under threat from two types of totalitarianism that actually were the protagonists of the political and social world of the last century, namely: that expressly authoritarian, based on terror, the war abroad and Fear inscribed on the interiority of the individual and the other, hidden under the guise of technological progress, hygiene and planning of extreme life. Ways to implement control mechanisms that appear to defend opposing ways of life, but now have evolved as a single strategy to dominate individual consciences and bend the wills of men of this to the point of threatening the very survival of the species.
