Abstract

Can we talk of an art of resurrection in deconstruction? Resurrection must no longer be understood as the supernatural act or the miraculous and incredible fable that comes to us from our Christian tradition. We state that this excess of supernaturalness is indeed a τέχνη. Resurrection, consequently, is not borrowed provocatively from the vocabulary of miracles but rather takes place in writing and reading. Using as a starting point a singular difference between Jacques Derrida and Jean-Luc Nancy with respect to the term resurrection, we will approach the way in which separation can be understood as an extraordinary and unprecedented form of relation. It can no longer be about some form of life in another world, but rather is about the other of life in this world: the rising in this life of the unavailable of the sense.
