Abstract
The founding ordinances of the confraternity of merchants of Saint Mary of the O of Toledo, written at the end of the fifteenth century, enable the author to undertake the case study of a mercantile corporation during the time of the Catholic Monarchs and to reach more general conclusions about how the transition from corporation to guild took place in late medieval Castile, comparing other mercantile corporations to that of Toledo.Downloads
