Formation factors of the grupal values of the Common in the councils of Salamanca and Avila (13th-15th centuries)

Keywords: common estate, Ávila, Salamanca, Castile, urban councils, urban history

Abstract

The estate of the Common, or non-privileged people, in this case in the councils of the southern basin of the Duero, held specific ideas and attitudes about agrarian property, markets, social organization and the council political regime. His views were opposed to those of his antagonists, that is, members of the urban chivalrous elites. The different factors that gave rise to these ideas in the 13th to 15th centuries are analyzed here: factors linked to the legal-political structure, ideas that circulated at the time, interests and possibilities of the agrarian world, communal uses, lived experiences and symbolic aspects. of intergroup relations
